     1. To fulfill prophesy (Ps. 22, Is. 53, etc.)
     2. Because He was a sinner (socially)
     3. For our sins (Rom. 4:25, 5:8, etc.)

     Penal Substitution (Col. 2:15, 1 Jn. 3:8) vs. Christus Victor (Jn. 3:36, Rom. 3:25-26)
